Background: From a multidisciplinary academic undergraduate degree with a dissertation on discrimination in the criminal justice system of England & Wales, Alexis went on to complete a Masters in Understanding and Securing Human Rights with a thesis on the compatibility of UK immigration law with the ECHR. He became a qualified lawyer following a CPE at the College of Law and a BVC at the ICSL.
Prior to being called to the Bar, he worked at organisations such as Liberty, the United Nations, the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights, the Treasury Solicitor and the Southern Centre for Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia where he investigated Death Row and prison condition cases.
Alexis has particular expertise in all areas of Immigration and Asylum Law, regularly appearing before the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal and in the Higher Courts.

Pro Bono Work: Alexis is committed to the effective representation all sections of society in a variety of forums. His pro bono work has included working for MIND, appearing before SENDIST and in immigration related matters for BID, FRU and the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
